Read on for the update highlights: A new, improved look and feel, with easier access to the content you loveīy aligning the experience across both platforms, we’ve not only been able to present a cohesive look and feel, but also refine navigation to help people quickly find what they’re looking for. With this redesign, we’re combining the technical opportunity of a modern and scalable web player together with a cohesive Spotify design and the features that you’ve all come to expect across the desktop app. ![]() Now, we’re pleased to deliver a new, clean design, more controls, and a great new foundation for our listeners to use Spotify across our desktop app and web player for the years to come. It took months of tests and research, talking to users, and gathering feedback. Since the desktop experience served as the original window to the world for Spotify, this was not a task we took lightly. That’s why, starting today, we’re rolling out a new improved look and feel for the Spotify app for desktop and web- aligning the experience and making both easier to use than ever before. ![]() Yet along the way, we felt that our desktop app experience hadn’t kept up, and that it was time for a change. We constantly test, develop, and launch new features, optimize for new devices, and look to expand our content offering. Hurray for new out of the box thinking, but this was just a blow in that box.įor beta testing, check the supplied attachments. At Spotify, we’re always looking for ways to provide the best possible experience so our listeners can consistently discover and enjoy music and podcasts-and that includes look, feel, and functionality. During my 18 years as a pc user i've never experienced another company to roll out betas like this. ![]() I dont mind being a beta tester i've done that a few times, but when you force it over the avarage user and force it over the stable version so normal ppl that have no clue how to deal with this ends up with a broken package of the software.well thats just not well planed. What you are doing by just rolling out a seriously buggy beta like this is giving it negative feedback from start. Normaly when companies do alpha/beta releases, they have a list of willing testers and normaly that alpha/beta would not overwrite the stable version of that software. Since there is no option to turn off the autoupdate forcing in the software. Now since 0.9.8 is SO buggy, i cant even see my playlists or the menu or anything in the options i am FORCED to uninstall and reinstall everytime i want to play spotify, eg after reboots. Is there some hidden text in the agreement of upon using spotify that allows YOU to use ME as a beta tester? How can you just roll out a beta version of the app to random users!? I've not signed up to be a beta tester and im paying for a service to work. ![]()
